One of Ford’s most iconic nameplates, the limited production Ford GT is a modern take on the Ferrari-beating GT40 that dominated the 24 Hours of Lemans in the 1960s. This second-generation (2017-2022) Ford GT is a medley of design innovation, engineering and performance. From its aerodynamically optimized teardrop shape to its multifunctional wing buttresses, the Ford GT is one impressive street legal race car. At the heart of the new GT is the twin-turbo EcoBoost V-6 which is mated to a quick-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and set of fat rear tires. This combination squeezes out 660 hp and 550 pound-feet of torque yielding a reported top speed of 216 mph. The butterfly hinged doors differ from earlier generations and no longer include a piece integrated into the roof. Once inside the cockpit you immediately notice the minimalistic yet purposeful driver-focused interior with the race inspired steering wheel housing a majority of the controls.
